Shu Pu Erh (Palace Grade Ripe 2005)
About This Tea
This is the Imperial (highest) Grade of ripe Pu Erh, also known as Palace (Gong Ting) Pu Erh. Traditionally, they were Royal Tributes for only the Emperor and the Royal family. Rigorous processes were used to select the best buds from the highest quality tea plants.
This tea has been aged for 12 years and consists of only golden tea buds (golden tips)! The result is a very delicate and smooth drinking experience with a lighter after taste.
The Manchus that ruled the Qing Dynasty were nomadic hunters with diets predominantly composed of meat. Pu Erh became popular among the Manchu Royals because of its ability to degrease their diet.
